Introducing the New Frederique Constant Classics Slimline Automatic Collection: Beautiful Watch! Beautiful Price!

When something looks this good, this stylish, this downright timeless, it just has to be expensive, right? Well, the designers at Swiss watchmaker Frederique Constant’s manufacture have put their considerable talents to remarkable use once again.

The result? A new range of watches that “looks like a million bucks,” as they say in America. In the case of the new Frederique Constant Classics Slimline Automatic Collection, however, it’s not just the incredible good looks of the new watches that will turn heads. The price tag will also cause quite a few double-takes.

We’ll start with the great design. To describe these watches as appearing “simple yet elegant” would be doing them a horrible injustice. The first of the new models, the FC-306MC4S35, is presented with a yellow gold plated case. The case diameter is 39mm, but the case is also so impossibly thin (7.7mm), you have to wonder how these watches can be water resistant to 30 metres below sea level and how the Frederique Constant engineers managed to fit in the FC-306 Automatic 25-jewel movement, with 28,800 beats per hour and a 42-hour power reserve.

Wonder no longer! You can actually see the internal workings of this elegant timepiece via the see-through case back. A delicate silver dial with guilloche decoration at the centre contrasts wonderfully with the gold plated case. Functions include hours and minutes, with a date indicator at the 3 o’clock position. Roman numeral indexes on both models give a classic appearance to an already timeless face, and the luxurious brown crococalf strap completes the package.

The second watch in the new Classics Slimline Automatic Collection is the FC-306MC4S36. This model features a glimmering, hand polished, stainless steel case, which blends beautifully with the silver dial and delicate guilloche decoration. The pure black crococalf leather strap further compliments the silver-steel dial and case.

Now that you know how good these new timepieces look, you’ll want to know the price. Frederique Constant has also prided itself on the company’s ability to offer affordable luxury, but the new Classics Slimline Automatic Collection takes that concept to a whole new level.

The stainless steel model is offered at a retail price of just CHF 1,550, while the gold plated version costs just CHF 1,750. If you compare the design and features of these new timepieces with what’s on offer from Frederique Constant’s “competitors,” you’ll quickly realize just how amazing those prices are, which could lead you to think, “Competitors? What competitors?”
