FREDERIQUE CONSTANT the all-new Classics Index Collection
There’s an old saying that goes, “The devil is in the detail.” This makes detail sound like something decidedly unpleasant, but in the case of the new Classics Index Collection from Frédérique Constant, the extraordinary design features, unbelievably attractive pricing and technological marvels built into each model mean that, when it comes to these watches, “the detail is utterly delightful.”
No fewer than nine unique automatic models make up the new Classics Index Collection; each utterly individual in appearance, yet all with sleek, clean lines, elegant and rich yet uncluttered dials and an exciting combination of raw materials that blend perfectly together to make each watch appear to be a combination of classic art and modern-day architectural genius.
Features shared throughout the range
Every watch in the Classics Index Collection is powered by the FC-303 automatic caliber with 26 jewels. The 28,800 alternances per hour and 38-hour power reserve ensure ultra-accurate and unfailingly reliable service.
The brilliantly polished two-part case measures 40mm in diameter; these mid-size watches sit comfortably on the wrist and are equally easy on the eye. Convex sapphire crystals protect dials, and every model in the range is water resistant to 50 metres. All models feature hour, minute and seconds hands, as well as a date window next to the 3 o’clock position on the dial, and all features can be accessed through the single screwed crown. Finally, the indexes and numerals for every model are carefully polished and delicately hand-applied.
Designs to suit all tastes
Two of the new Classics Index models, the FC-303C5B4 and the FC-303V5B4, are both built with stainless steel cases are plated with rose gold, as are the indexes on the dial, and both are fitted with dark brown leather straps. One features a rich, dark chocolate coloured dial; the other a striking silver dial.
The remaining seven models all have gleaming stainless steel cases, but the range of design features from which to choose is even more dazzling. There are two models with black dials, two with white dials and two in gleaming silver, and the options don’t end there.
Four Classics Index editions come with regal, hand-applied Roman numerals at the 12 and 6 o’clock positions. Three models feature sporty stainless steel bracelets, while three others give you the option of black crocodile leather straps. One model, the FC-303WN5B6OS, is even presented with a luxurious, brown ostrich leather strap with contrasting white stitching.
Let’s face it. If you can’t find the design features you always wanted in a Swiss watch in this range, you just aren’t looking closely enough!
