Chopard the L.U.C XPS Rose Gold
Less is more
With its blend of technical excellence, aesthetic refinement and understated charm, the L.U.C XPS has become an authentic classic. This year, Chopard is unveiling a new 18-carat rose gold edition with a satin-brushed, silver-toned dial, the epitome of discreet elegance.
Accommodating a self-winding movement endowed with two barrels and a 65-hour power reserve within an ultra-thin case is an impressive feat indeed – one successfully accomplished by the watchmakers of Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier, thanks to a clever construction featuring a micro-rotor. The designers also devoted their talents to the shape and proportions of the round large-diameter case (39.50 mm) featuring a flat bezel and an extremely slender middle. This careful and inspired aesthetic research resulted in light, dynamic, timeless and supremely balanced lines characterising a model that won first prize in the ultra-thin watch category at the 2006 edition of the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix.
Visual perfection meets technical excellence
In order to cater to the wishes of men who are fascinated by fine mechanical horology, Chopard has fitted its L.U.C XPS models with a sapphire crystal case-back enabling them to admire the L.U.C 96.12-L (L.U.C 12.96) movement and its bridges adorned with a “Côtes de Genève” motif. Crafted in 18-carat rose gold with a new satin-brushed, silver-toned dial and small seconds at 6 o’clock, this model in which visual perfection meets technical sophistication is certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC).
Chopard’s in-house approach to watch manufacturing
Chopard is a family business with a strongly ingrained philosophy of independence. The steps involved in making L.U.C watches are all performed in-house at the group’s Meyrin and Fleurier production sites. Movement development, finished product design, gold casting, stamping and cases machining, movement parts and bracelets, as well as traditional hand-crafted finishes, surface treatments, polishing, assembly, adjustments and quality controls: such is the comprehensive range of watch production operations fully mastered by Chopard and involved in the making of each watch in the L.U.C collection.
