FRANC VILA the FVi Nº8 Tourbillon Intrepido SuperLigero Skeleton

 

FRANC VILA will introduce in Baselworld 2013 a new resistant and strong contemporary skeleton tourbillon which inherits the research, innovations and experience proven for five years under its SuperLigero Concept label. The new FVi Nº 8 Tourbillon Intrepido SuperLigero Skeleton is included in the Intrepido Collection, which introduced the second evolution of the FRANC VILA very characteristic watchcase design.

With the introduction in 2008 of the FVa Nº 6 skeleton tourbillon, Franc Vila inaugurated his well known and successful collection named SuperLigero Concept. The concept consisted in the development of different masterpieces with the characteristic of being very light while extremely robust in order to provide to the Haute Horlogerie lovers a collection of contemporary and complicated watches able to withstand exigent sport activities. The common element in all the timepieces introduced under the SuperLigero concept was the use of Lightnium, an aluminium-lithium based alloy used in state of the art aeronautical engineering, whose main characteristics –lightness combined with high-tensile strength– allow for the development of very robust movements like the FV Nº 6 skeleton tourbillon, the FV Nº Cuatro SuperLigero chronograph tourbillon, and the FVa35 SuperSonico 5 Minutes Repeater.

The FVi Nº 8 is a hand wound tourbillon with 4.5 days of power reserve whose bridges are made in a new generation of Lightnium with the aim of creating an extremely resistant and contemporary complicated timepiece. The frequency of the regulating organ is 21600 vph and is equipped with silicon escape wheel and lever.

The introduction of the FVi Nº 8 is the product of a long process of research and innovation during years of work in concept timepieces crystallizing in a sheer sport mechanical beauty.
