For its 125-year jubilee, Carl F. Bucherer presents the Manero MoonPhase Limited Edition – a great moment for lovers of the classic craft of watchmaking. In addition to the current date, the day of the week and the month, the beautifully executed calendar also displays the phase of the moon. And is a tribute to the company’s founder, Carl Friedrich Bucherer.
A new era in Swiss watchmaking began in 1888 with the opening of Carl Friedrich Bucherer’s shop in Lucerne. To the visionary Bucherer, his eye for detail and his love of detail were paramount. This passionate dedication to the art of watchmaking is also reflected in the Manero MoonPhase Limited Edition. A quick glance at the wrist provides the wearer with a quick overview of the current date, shown by hands around the center of the dial. The indication of the day of the week has been positioned at 10 o’clock, and the current month can be seen on the right, at 2 o’clock. The special calendar is completed by the moon phase indication, which appears in a central position at 6 o’clock. In addition the watch’s reliability is ensured by Carl F. Bucherer’s automatic CFB 1966 caliber, which forms the heart of this unusual calendar.
The Manero range from Carl F. Bucherer stands for the skilled craft of the master watchmaker in its most authentic form. Thus the Manero MoonPhase Limited Edition also reflects elegance and timeless design. With a diameter of 38 mm and a height of 10.85 mm (a classic size for top-quality Manufacture watches) the bicolored case made of 18-karat rose gold and stainless steel forms a harmonious framework for the silver-colored dial with its 12 markers. In spite of the many indications of complications, Carl F. Bucherer has made optimum legibility a design priority, enhanced by the wedge-shaped index marks and the tapering Super-Luminova®-coated hours and minutes hands. A particularly eye-catching feature is the moon phase indication, with a gold-colored moon shining out against a blue background. The high-quality Louisiana alligator-skin strap has an elegant stainless steel clasp.
The timepiece is perfectly finished by the polished surfaces of the case and the harmoniously rounded horns.
In the Manero MoonPhase Limited Edition Carl F. Bucherer has created a watch that stands for everything the name Manero means. Derived from the Latin “manuaria” meaning “that which is guided by hand”, the Manero MoonPhase Limited Edition houses a complex inner life in a simple case, thus combining watchmaking mastery and a classically practical appearance. A perfect example of Carl F. Bucherer style.
