Ferrari's 10th anniversary in Russia
To celebrate this historic occasion, Hublot has unveiled a special edition Big Bang Ferrari Russia. This is the first limited edition Ferrari watch designed specifically for Russia. “Rareté oblige”: just 25 numbered pieces will be available
Moscow, 23rd May 2014 – Today saw the launch of this very special limited edition Big Bang Ferrari Russia 10th anniversary at Moscow's Barvikha Luxury Village, the high-class district of the capital, which was decked out in red for the occasion. The unveiling took place during on the first day of a three-day event which marks the beginning of a calendar of celebrations scheduled for 2014, the tenth anniversary of Ferrari's presence in Russia. Hublot’s guest of honour, Gianmaria Bruni, the World Endurance Champion, will be on hand over the weekend giving tips to selected Hublot customers invited to test the professional F1 simulator.
The Big Bang Ferrari Russie fuses design, materials and mechanics in a way that uniquely reflects the respective DNA of Hublot and Ferrari: innovation, performance, technology and exclusivity. Featuring a black ceramic case, the watch (45.5 mm in diameter) is equipped with a cylindrical carbon fibre bezel with red moulding that dramatically showcases the in- house UNICO flyback chronograph movement (can be reset at any time) visible through the sapphire dial. The watch's numerous touches of red (on the bezel, and red minute and chronograph second hands, Schedoni leather and black rubber strap with red stitching) pay special tribute to the famous Ferrari signature. The symbolic prancing horse appears in discreet gold at 9 o'clock on the dial of the timepiece, only 25 of which have been produced.
"The collaboration between Hublot and Ferrari has reached a new level in these last two years," explained Ricardo Guadalupe, CEO of Hublot. "It’s a real fusion of the watchmaking expertise of Hublot and the industrial achievement of Ferrari, but also an eternal pursuit for ultimate quality and innovation. We all believe that Hublot and Ferrari will continue to enjoy an unprecedented legendary cooperation in the future."
The UNICO movement can be compared to the best possible engine to power a racing car, and this movement was selected, then designed and developed by Hublot to power the Big Bang Ferrari. With no fewer than 330 components and a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour, the column wheel and dual horizontal coupling appear on the dial. An indexed crown (with Hublot’s ‘H’ logo automatically positioning itself to remain in line) features elongated push buttons, fixed along a rotating axis like the pedals in a car, whilst carbon inserts give the case a distinctive look. Each timepiece comes with two interchangeable straps, including the one on the display watch in black Schedoni leather stitched onto black rubber, with a highly innovative quick-change system inspired by the seat belt mechanism. This timepiece has a 72-hour power reserve and is water-resistant to 100 metres. The absence of superfluous accessories highlights the rational elements of the Big Bang Ferrari Russie's unique design: the expression of Hublot's Art of Fusion concept married to the innovative spirit of Ferrari.
