ELEVEN NEW SOPHISTICATED COLOURS FOR THE OFFICINE PANERAI STRAPS
With the start of the summer season Officine Panerai presents a new collection of coloured straps in alligator, consisting of eleven sophisticated variations: a range made up of eight straps with a semi-matt finish and three with a shiny finish, designed to meet the tastes of both a masculine and a feminine clientele.
For Officine Panerai, the introduction of colour is a development which harmonises very successfully with the simplicity of the minimalist lines of its watches. The new accessories have a lively character, fresh and versatile, maintaining Panerai’s unique and recognisable style. For the first time an elegant white version has been added to the semi-matt alligator straps already in the range – red, green, blue, pink, Bordeaux, orange and yellow. Another absolute first is represented by the new coloured straps with a polished finish, available in more intense shades of red, dark pink and violet, displaying a captivating harmony of hues. The workmanship involved in the creation of straps with a polished finish is very distinctive: the particularly brilliant effect of the surface is achieved by an elaborate process of hand polishing using special agate stones.
The Officine Panerai alligator strap is a perfect synthesis of simplicity and high quality production. The various specialist operations employed in making it and the excellent materials used mean that this strap unique of its kind, guaranteeing the highest standards of quality.
The leather used for Panerai straps is exquisite, distinguished by large regular scales according to the TEC standard (Toutes Écailles Carrées: rectangular scales only). The raw material comes from monitored farms in Louisiana in the United States, which operate in compliance with the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) agreed in Washington DC in the 1970s.
Another element which is characteristic of the high manufacturing standards of Officine Panerai straps is the special technique known as rembordé: this means that the upper leather is accurately folded and sealed round the edges of the strap, providing greater resistance to creasing and wear. Also the internal lining of the straps, made of soft natural leather, can breath while being resistant to humidity and is therefore very comfortable. Numerous different tests are carried out on Panerai straps in order to guarantee the highest quality and the best performance. The sewing too is an extremely well-finished detail: it is carried out using cotton thread of the same colour for the semi-matt straps and of a contrasting, lighter shade for the polished straps.
The new coloured straps in alligator are available for the Radiomir 1940 (diameter 42mm), Luminor 1950 (42mm) and Luminor (40mm). They can create many original colour combinations with the dials of Officine Panerai’s watches.
